Protecting My Children’s Hearts: Lessons in Motherhood




Here’s something motherhood has taught me…


There will be people in your life who don’t show much interest in your children, and that’s not on you.


As their mom, their protector, it’s my job to guard not just their hearts, but mine as well.


I’ve stopped chasing anyone to be a part of their lives. If my kids don’t know them, that’s on those people, not us.


At the end of the day, it’s their loss .


Because titles aren’t just given, they’re earned.

Did you know it can take a woman up to two full years after giving birth to feel like herself again?  It’s not just about the physical recovery—it’s about the time it takes for her hormones to return to normal, and for her brain chemistry to fully balance out. During this two-year period, many relationships struggle.  The lack of patience and understanding often leads to unnecessary stress and even separation, as both partners adjust to the significant changes in their lives.  This is a time when a new mother needs the most support and empathy. Speaking from personal experience, I’ve had three children spaced five years apart.  So, if I look at it this way, out of the last 15 years, I’ve only really been “myself” for about nine of them.
